Membership

Membership in the American Society of Naturalists is open to those who have shown interest in its purpose:

to advance and to diffuse knowledge of organic evolution and other broad biological principles so as to enhance the conceptual unification of the biological sciences.

 

Eight Reasons to be an ASN Member

Community--Members join a thriving peer network and can receive e-mail alerts about the annual meeting and society news

Scholarship--Members have individual electronic access to The American Naturalist from the Latest Articles back to Vol. 1 No. 1 published in 1867.

University of Chicago Press Book Discounts--Members receive a 20% discount on all University of Chicago Press books

Meeting Discounts--Members can register at the annual meetings at reduced rates

Publication Discounts--Authors who are members receive reduced publication charges for American Naturalist articles

Affordability--Membership rates are reasonable, with special discounts for multiple year memberships and special rates for students and retired members.

Voting Privileges--Members are eligible to vote in ASN elections.

Support of Your Profession--Membership dues help fund the annual meetings, graduate student travel to meetings, the Vice Presidential Symposium and special issue, and the celebration of scientific achievement through the ASN awards:
